Farmers World is a browser-based NFT- powered farming game on the Wax blockchain. With up to 150,000 active users, it is one of the fastest-growing games in the NFT ecosystem. Let’s understand what is the game about and how can we play it.
What is Farmers World?
It is a straightforward, enjoyable play-to-earn (P2E)game that allows you to work as a farmer and enjoy the benefits of the Farmers World ecosystem. You farm gold, food, and wood which can be exchanged for FWG, FWF and FWW tokens in decentralized exchanges like Alcor. You can also mint NFTs through crafting and buying from the in-game market which you can use in-game or sell in the secondary market like Atomic Market.
How to play?
To get started, head off to the official website of Farmers World. Although there is no free starter kit, the entry-level tools can be had for about $5 total or 25 WAX (as of this writing). This already includes a mining excavator to farm gold for 18 WAX (rare), a saw to farm wood for 2.2 WAX (uncommon) and a fishing net to farm food for 2.5 WAX (uncommon). You can eventually craft these and other better farming NFTs once you have enough wood and gold.
In total, there are three primary resources in the Famers World ecosystem. These are Wood, Food and Gold. They also have corresponding tokens, which are FWW (Wood), FWF (Food), and FWG (Gold). The game layout is simple. Home shows access to all farming nodes and corresponding NFTs worn: food, gold and wood. Available resources are at the top and will always show regardless of where you are in the game.
- Compared to other games out there, Farmers World does look basic and is indeed still basic. There is hardly any storyline except the one on their “Our Story” page so it’s hard to connect emotionally to the game.
- There are no referral rewards to incentivize players to grow the community.
- The “About Us” page can be a bit more comprehensive and interesting.
- No iOS or Android Support.
Farmers world has become one of the biggest games in the NFT space. In fact, according to DappRadar statistics, the game is the third most popular game behind Splinterlands and Alien Worlds. However, there are some irregularities that need to be fixed in order to get more players. If you’re into low-effort P2E gaming, then this game might be for you.
