Everything you need to know about Web5 5.0

What is WEB5 5.0

The internet has been one of the most incredible advances in our society and can bring significant benefits to every single person on the planet. It has constantly been changing with time and is expected to change in the future as well. We will explain exactly what is web5.

Web 3 and Web 2

The current generation of the internet is Web 2.0, which introduced the concept of user-generated content and social media platforms. Web 3.0 caters to the flaws in the current web. The absence of censorship resistance, trustless environments, and data privacy are some of the deficiencies of Web 2.0.

Web 3.0 aims to provide relevant information faster through AI and advanced machine learning techniques. More intelligent search algorithms and development in Big Data will mean that machines can automatically understand and recommend content. Web3 will also focus on user-ownership of content and aims to give the power back to the hands of the people.

The blockchain-based organizations will allow the transparent spread of information and power across a vast collection of people. However, this is not in the case of Web 2.0 where large tech companies dominate vast areas of our online lives. This ability of self-sovereign due to blockchain technology and its applications creates new digital economies.

What is Web5?

Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey recently announced the new Web5 that will be a mixture of Web 2.0 and Web 3.0. What is web5? Web5 aims to “ build an extra decentralized web that puts one in control of one’s data and identity.

Is Web5 real?

Web 5.0 is just a concept right now and is not functional. The concept is so young that the development has not yet been started by the developers. Moreover, people are confused over what will Web 5.0 offer that will overpower Web 3.0.

Challenges related to Web 5.0

  • Currently, there are no implications for this technology as it’s just an idea and no one knows what it would be.
  • Web 5.0’s biggest competitor will be Web 3.0 as it’s already in motion and is being tested regularly by the developers. Thus, it would be quite challenging for Web 5.0 to overpower Web 3.0.
  • There is not even a single blueprint of web 5.0 that can at least state how we could achieve it.

Web 5.0 is at a very early stage as it is just a concept given by Jack Dorsey, the former CEO of Twitter. However, it may turn out to be a great hit if it is able to solve the problems that Web 3.0 is currently facing. Until then, we can just hope for the best for Jack Dorsey and his vision – Web 5.0.
